There are emulators for different platforms like Windows, Android, iOS and Mac OS X. The ROM contains the video game files of Wii Sports Resort and the emulator acts as the game console. To be able to play you must introduce the downloaded ROM in the folder of your emulator.

Custom Showdown 4

This is what I like to call 'The Wedge Island Expansion Pack'. However, Nintendo's KCL for it does not match up with certain parts of the model. So sometimes you'll go underground, but it doesn't affect your progress.

Custom Showdown Ultimate

This is the hardest possible set of showdown levels, Every single CPU's difficulty has been maxed out. Even though the fog is gone, This is harder than all of the level packs that came before it.

BONUS CONTENT:

Casual Showdown Mode

Everybody will be wearing their favorite color instead of armor.

OTHER:

New Champions for each sport (Except Cycling, It had no effect in game).

PAL Support

Everything that works in the NTSC Version now works in the PAL Version. Including the enhancements.

This will probably be the last update for a while. I am going to be spending a lot of time working on a large project named 'The Big Game: A Wii Sports Story'. However I might make a small update if I ever manage to create a new mode for golf or something.

Anyways... Here is what this update has to offer.

General Update

I had to make a lot of changes due to me losing a lot of my files shortly after 7.0 was released. I had to restructure a lot of things. So now, it is VERY STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU ENABLE BOTH THE'STORM ISLAND' OPTION AND THE 'HOME BUTTON HOTLINE BLING' OPTION.

ANY OF THE SUB-OPTIONS WITHIN THE 'HOME BUTTON HOTLINE BLING' OPTION WILL ALSO WORK.

VARIETY MODE

The music changes based on the options that you select.

Home Button Hotline Bling:

- Added Alisha Mode: Every CPU turns into Alisha (My 3rd Favorite CPU)

- Added Mattpocalypse Mode: Every CPU turns into Matt

- Added Midori Mode: Every CPU turns into Midori

New Golf Modes:

One Shot Golf

The ball will never bounce. Unfortunately, this has weird effects on putting. So you'll have to apply extreme force when you are on the green.

Sentient Flag

The flag will move to a random location. Sadly, the hole does not move with it. So you will have to make it all the way to the green.

The game is programmed to always make the player face the flag. So you will have to turn the right direction. It's actually fun once you get the hang of it.

Gliderball

Once you hit the ball and then activate this enhancement. The ball will continuously glide and gain height in whatever direction it was hit in and it's forward momentum will stay the same after being hit until you deactivate it.

Basically, If you hit the ball hard enough, and then activate this and deactivate it at the right time. You can get a Hole In One on Hole 18.

Controls

Press the Minus button after hitting the ball. And then press Minus again when you want it to stop gliding.

Tannenbaum's Quest

Every time after you hit the ball a random effect will happen. It can range all the way from the ball doing a 180, to the ball being instantly transported onto the green. It's different for every position on each course. However it is highly unstable. So I have made it a button activated code.

Sometimes the code changes from being off by default, to being off by default and vice versa. Although you'll instantly be able to tell if it's on after hitting the ball.

If the ball gets stuck in midair or falls under the ground, you can either deactivate it or wait 30 seconds, because sometimes something else random will happen within that time.

Controls

Press Minus to Activate, and Press Minus Again to Deactivate.

If you're wondering about the name. It's the name I chose due to 'The Quest Of The Tiny Fir Tree' being too long.

THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH THE NEGATIVE WIND ENHANCEMENT

N64

N64 Graphics.

It's also recommended that you try this in Bowling with the Storm Island Feature enabled.

Somehow, the animation for the trees in this mode is more real looking than the animation that's actually used in the game.

Quest of Clubs

Your membership status at the Wedge Island Country Club has been downgraded from 'Platinum Member' to 'Member'

You are now restricted to only being able to use 4 clubs to complete each course. Take your shots wisely

Things To Do In Storm Island

SWORDPLAY SHOWDOWN:

NEW SWORDPLAY SHOWDOWN LEVEL PACK:

This level pack contains the hardest custom levels in Swordplay Showdown. It's not as easy as the last 2 packs were. Armor data was changed. CPU Miis swing faster, etc. See if you can beat all 20 stages!

To use this feature, select 'CustomShowdown3' in the 'Things to do in Storm Island' option.

- Fixed The Ruins Stage bug in Stage Pack 1

- Fixed Rooftop CPU Spawn softlock bug in Stage Pack 2

- Added Custom Boss CPUs to every level in both custom stage packs.

UNUSED CYCLING STAGES:

This will load 2 cycling stages that Nintendo cut from the game. They are placed over 'Around the Island' and 'Over Talon Rock'

Due to Missing Data. The first one can't be completed and just randomly shifts you around at the end. But if you turn right hard enough when you reach the finish line you might be able to get out of it, It's sort of like free roam. See how far you can get! I got all the way to the boat!

On the second one, chances are you will get stuck on a curb. You can get unstuck by doing a wheelie. And turning hard left or hard right while pedaling.

Bonus Content

ENHANCED BASKETBALL:

The Miis will now be able to move in more directions as far back as the half court line.

The reason why this was put in Bonus Content and not in Enhancements was so it would be compatible with Dunk Only Mode.

NO VIDEOS:

Allows you to skip the Wii Motion Plus videos.

TURN OFF EVERYTHING ELSE TO USE THIS.

Kids Basketball

Very Short Miis.

Negative Wind

This mode allows you to switch between -666MPH and 666 MPH In golf.

Controls

Press Minus to Activate, and Press Minus Again to Deactivate.
It's recommended to do this when the ball is in midair and switch back and forth, It has funny results.

'666' was the highest and lowest value I could get to work with both the activator and deactivator. I'm not even kidding.

THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH THE GLIDERBALL OR TANNENBAUM'S QUEST GOLF SETTINGS.

True Texture Randomizer

You can randomize textures on command. Simply press the Minus Button.

Controls

Press Minus to Activate, and Press Minus Again to Deactivate.

MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS IN A GAME OR AT A TIME WHERE A LOT OF GRAPHICS ARE ON SCREEN. OTHERWISE IT WILL LOAD THE DEFAULT GREYSCALE TEXTURES OVER EVERYTHING.

Masters Showdown

I wont spoil too much

If you hit a Mii in Swordplay Showdown, You should try pressing the 1 button. I managed to hit about 12 miis at once with this.

Or if you want just press 1 and leave it at that..

In duel, Press 1 after hitting a CPU off the platform. If you want, you can constantly keep pressing 1, I've gotten really cool things to happen by doing this.

Controls

Press 1 to Activate, and Press 1 Again to Deactivate.

THIS DOES NOT WORK IN PING PONG UNLIKE MASTERS PING PONG.

TURN OFF GOLF SETTINGS IN ORDER TO USE THIS.

ImpossiBowl

Are you a master at bowling? Has regular bowling gotten too easy for you? Well then this enhancement is just the thing for you!

The pins move in only 1 direction. Which makes getting a strike harder! It's a fun challenge.

Masters Bowling

Tired of regular bowling? This enhancement will spice things up for you!

YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT 30 SECONDS AFTER EACH THROW IN 100 PIN MODE.

Cycling Tornado

If you use this at the right time, You can fly all over the course in Cycling. You can even manage to take an Ultra Shortcut.

Due to how chaotic this can get, you shouldn't keep it enabled for too long. But if you do, try and do a wheelie. It has very interesting results.

Controls

Press B to Activate, and Press B again to Deactivate.

Tsunami
On Command

You can cause an extremely large series of waves to form by pressing the B button.

This works in Canoeing and Power Cruising

Controls

Press B to Activate, and Press B again to Deactivate.

This will only work if no other buttons are pressed when you press the B button.

ONCE YOU SEE THE WAVES BEGINNING TO FORM, DO NOT KEEP THIS ACTIVATED FOR MORE THAN 5 SECONDS.

DO NOT USE FOR LONGER THAN 2 SECONDS IN CANOEING.

IF YOU DO, IT WILL COMPLETELY BREAK THE GAME AND HAVE HUGE LAG SPIKES. SOMETIMES IT MIGHT EVEN CRASH THE GAME.

Cycling Randomness

When you activate this, Something completely random will happen. Each coordinate on the map has a different effect.

Controls

Press C on the Nunchuck to activate and Press C to deactivate

This isn't really an update. It's more like a patch. This patch fixes the bug in the in the first level of the 2nd Custom Showdown Levels Pack. It was unbeatable due to CPU's spawning in places the player couldn't reach

To install this 'Patch' download the file and move it into your 'WSR' folder. Click yes when it asks you if you want to replace.

YOU WILL NEED VERSION 7.0 FOR THIS TO WORK. YOU CAN GET IT DOWN BELOW.

One more thing.

Added a new option named 'Things to do in Storm Island' You can enable various features for Showdown and Archery using this menu.

Added a new Swordplay Showdown Level Pack. You can play it by selecting 'CustomShowdown2' in the 'Things to do in Storm Island'

Added 'UnusedArchery' to the Things to do in Storm Island' Option. This loads several stages that are unused in Archery's data file. It loads the ones that are most functional. There are other unused ones but they don't work correctly.

Updated Jesus Mode for Golf so the Camera Lock Barrier no longer counts as Out of Bounds.

Updated all of the Cycling Text.

Golf: 'Out Of This World' Mode Updates:

New Feature for Bonus Content : 'ImpossiBall'

- This Mode makes basketball even harder to beat. You have to put a lot of effort in to win this. Also the defense goes insane.

New Feature for Home Button Hotline Bling: 'Kathrin'

- This will make every CPU Mii Kathrin. I also tried to do this for Matt but it caused the game to crash.

Added a new option to the SaveState Menu named 'EmulateCurrentSave' It loads your Console Savegame, but it will save any new data to your SD Card instead of your console.

- Not many people know this but the other options in this Menu allows you to create a completely new Savegame to your SD Card.

New Golf Modes:

Give Up Faster	It's almost exactly what it sounds like. Well sort of.
Expert Only Mode	It's kind of hard to put into words. You'll have to play this yourself and see.
Blind Golf	As of right now, This is the hardest Wii Golfing Challange. I will be amazed if you manage to get a good score on this.
Cameramans Crisis	The ultimate test of your patience in Golf.

New Enhancements:

ImpossiBall	Let's just say that you will probably only be able to win a Pickup Game using this mode If you've beaten Tommy, At least Twice.
Complete Corrupted Chaos	Exactly what it sounds like.
Bouncy Bowling	Basically a more stable version of Anarchy Mode. The ball will bounce up and down the lane but It's timed so it will disappear after a certain amount of time.
TENET	You'll have to try this one yourself. It's hard to explain.
First Person Swordplay Showdown	Because of the way this code affects the game, You should really only use it in Showdown.
RTX OFF	Applies dark shaders. And... other things.
Ping Pong Crisis	Basically, Ping Pong but only with perfectly timed shots. That's really the only way I can explain this to you.
Semi Wireframe Mode	This applies a Wireframe like effect to the game.

Revamped Menu

Custom Golf Courses: The Storm Island Team managed to make the first 2 custom Wii Sports Resort Golf Courses! One of them is over Resort Hole 1, and the other is over Classic Hole 1. You can't complete it due to how the game applies collision culling to the cup. We are working on a fix for that but for now, the courses are for show.

Random Mii Generator : This will randomly generate CPU Miis in the game, it is rng based so It will be different every time, you can enable this in The Home button hotline bling option

New Mode For Golf : Out of this world : This took me about 2 whole weeks to make, Each course has its own unique obstacle/Feeling to it, I imported some objects from other games and gave each course its own twist to try and make it feel like your playing on another planet!

1. Wii Play Style Ping Pong : The more you hit the ball (it gets faster each frame that its in the air) the faster the ball gets, but you should probably try this in 2p mode though it works in return and 1p mode as well. Just not very well...

2. Netplay Test : Exactly what it sounds like.

3. Dunk Only Basketball : This Enhancement allows you to dunk from anywhere on the basketball court.

1. Texture Randomizer : One of the coolest enhancements (In my opinion) is the texture randomizer, it changes all of the textures to the texture of the biggest object in view

(Does not work in Power Cruising, might not work in Speed Slice Either)

2. Gummoworld : This disables the pointer to the game textures (I think) so it makes the game look like the textures are TV Static, It looks really cool In Golf

5. Frictionless Ping Pong : Exactly what the name says, When the ball bounces on the table, It'll go higher since each time it bounces because of no friction applied to it, This might help stop table locking

6. Bowling Speed Hack : This will cause the ball to go really fast when thrown, you also get practice shots since throwing it backwards will cause it to go forward since the Z Velocity is set to -1

7. Idle Defense : Idle defense in Basketball

8.Sentient Golf Ball : When you hit the ball, it becomes uhhhhhh Self Aware I guess, and from there It decides where it wants to go

9. No Flyover Timer : This Disables the timer in Island Flyover

First Release

Wii-Sports and Wii-Sports Resort have sold, between them, 115 million copies world wide. Many of these were to families who didn't previously play many video-games. Today Nintendo announced an update to Wii-Sports for the Wii U.

Wii-Sports Club adds better controls and an online function to update the classic five sports on the Wii: Tennis, Bowling, Boxing, Baseball and Golf. The new game is also rendered in high definition now and lets players message each other to congratulate or commiserate their performance.

What better time then to take a look back at the Wii-Sports games in our 'All About' series.

First of all it's worth noting the differences between the different versions:

Wii-Sports offers Tennis, Bowling, Boxing, Baseball and Golf and can be played with up to four Wii Remote controllers. It was often packed in with the Wii console itself. Wii-Sports Resort

Dolphin Emulator Wii Sports Resort

offers Swordplay, Wakeboarding, Frisbee, Archery, Basketball, Table Tennis, Golf, Bowling, Power Cruising, Canoeing, Cycling and Air Sports. It required the MotionPlus attachment on each Wii Remote controller to be played. One MotionPlus attachment was included with the game. Wii-Sports Club offers Tennis, Bowling, Boxing, Baseball and Golf. But like Wii-Sports Resort it requires the MotionPlus attachment on each Wii Remote controller to be played. You can play Wii-Sports Club online against players not in the same room and it also offers updated visuals.

Although appearing quite simple to start with these games do actually offer many hours of game-play. Additionally many of them had hidden harder modes that could be unlocked as follows

Wii-Sports Resort

Sports Champions offers a more mature take on sporting challenges on the PlayStation 3 using the Move controller. Kinect Sports on Xbox 360 and Sports Rivals on Xbox One offer a hands free motion controlled sporting experience. An alternative take on video-game sports is the Sports Friends pack (PC/Mac/PS3) that includes the physical electronic sports game Joust
