  • Fantastic bit of kit, used on my Mac Mini (with a Dell display), I always thought the colours were pretty good but after using the Colormunki everything looks so much more alive; very easy to install, set-up and use, took about 5 minutes and the results really are are noticeable.

1. What’s New?

Version 1.1.4

  • Introduced error checking to detect if the device is not on screen or if measurement window is blocked.

ColorMunki Smile delivers super simple monitor calibration for your laptop or desktop monitor, and with X-Rite ColorTRUEmobile app you can even calibrate your Apple iOS devices. Calibration is just a fancy way of saying adjust your computer screen to show the colors correctly.

  • Application automatically moves cursor out of measurement field during flare measurements.
  • Improved connectivity between application and ColorMunki Display device.
  • Improved ADC connectivity and quality. ADC will now discover more compatible displays and will create an improved calibration for most displays.

2. System Requirements:

Supported Languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Chinese Simplified, and Chinese Traditional

Minimum suggested hardware/software requirements:

Windows®:

  • Microsoft® Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 (32 or 64 bit and with latest Service Pack installed)
  • 2GB RAM
  • Intel® Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 or better CPU
  • 2GB of available disk space
  • Powered USB Port
  • Monitor resolution of 1024x768 pixels or higher
  • Dual display support requires either 2 video cards or a dual head video card that supports dual video LUTs
  • Network adaptor installed and driver loaded
  • Optical drive or high-speed internet connection required for software install, download and automatic software update

Macintosh®:

3. Installation:

Administrative rights are required to install and uninstall the software.

Do not connect the ColorMunki Display device until the software installation is complete.

The ColorMunki Display device must be connected in order to register the software.

4. Known Issues:

Monitor calibration does not work when multiple monitors are in mirror mode (this issue affects Windows® installations only.)

Special Note: On Windows XP, if a display is removed from a system, the operating system will put the primary display in mirror mode even though the secondary display has been removed. In this case, the user will get an enumeration error. This error can be dismissed and the user will still be able to make a profile.

Windows 7 and Vista only: During monitor profile creation, you may see a message stating that the display’s color scheme is being changed. This is temporary to allow proper in-screen measurement. The display will be restored to its previous state after the measurements are completed.

You may not be able to load display LUTs if you are running Windows on a MacOS system using Parallels Desktop® or similar software.

The application may lose its connection to the ColorMunki Display if the computer goes into sleep or hibernate mode. If this happens, disconnect and reconnect the device to restore the connection.

The ColorMunkiDisplayTray application looks for connected displays when it launches. If you disconnect or connect a display, the tray will not see the change until it is re-launched or the system is restarted.
